Mentee statistics Round 3 – 2022

We asked our mentees to give us some feedback about the UX Tree Mentorship Program they’ve completed, and this is what we’ve found out:

  • 2-3 hours is the average time our Mentees have spent with their Mentors (per month)
  • 4-5 hours is the average time every Mentee has spent working on their project (per week)

When we enquired about the contribution to learning, this came back:

  • 100% of our Mentees improved their Research skills
  • 100% of our Mentees improved their Prototyping skills
  • 100% of our Mentees improved their Designing skills
  • 100% of our Mentees improved their Presentation skills
  • 100% of our Mentees improved their general confidence in UX

Our Mentees were happy with the Assignment too:

  • 93% Mentees agreed that learning objectives were clear
  • 93% Mentees agreed that program content was organised and well planned
  • 85% Mentees agreed that program workload was appropriate

When it came to the overall satisfaction, these are the results we got back:

  • 100% Mentees were very or extremely satisfied with The program
  • 77% Mentees were very or extremely satisfied with their Mentor
  • 85% Mentees were very or extremely satisfied with skills and responsiveness of their Mentor

We also asked about the overall customer experience quality, based on Mentees’ likelihood to recommend the UX Tree Mentorship Program to a colleague or friend.

  • 62% Mentees answered with 10 – promoters
  • 30% Mentees answered with 9 – promoters
  • 8% Mentees answered with 8 – passives

This resulted in Net Promoter Score of 92.


And lastly, we wanted to know the reasons why our Mentees decided to sign up for the UX Tree Mentorship program:

  • 85% mentioned Skill development as one of the reasons
  • 62% mentioned Career planing as one of the reasons
  • 77% mentioned Networking as one of the reasons
  • 23% mentioned Learning the workplace culture as one of the reasons
  • 39% mentioned Gaining visibility for potential promotions as one of the reasons
  • 39% mentioned Finding a job in UX as one of the reasons
  • 39% mentioned Problem solving skills as one of the reasons
  • 16% mentioned Work alongside someone in the UX industry as one of the reasons
  • 54% mentioned Structure and work towards a deadline/goal as one of the reasons
  • 8% mentioned Learn new UX methods outside of current knowledge as one of the reasons

However, the most important thing we found out is that 62% of our Mentees that completed the Program have found the job in the field even before finishing up (junior UX position).

When we enquired about the contribution to learning, this came back:

  • 93% of our Mentors improved their Leadership skills
  • 100% of our Mentors improved their Communication skills

Our Mentors were happy with Mentee’s Assignment too:

  • 85% Mentors agreed or strongly agreed that learning objectives were clear
  • 93% Mentors agreed or strongly agreed that program content was organised and well planned
  • 93% Mentors agreed or strongly agreed that program workload was appropriate

When it came to the overall satisfaction, these are the results we got back:

  • 100% Mentors were very or extremely satisfied with The program

We also asked about the overall customer experience quality, based on Mentors’ likelihood to recommend the UX Tree Mentorship Program to a colleague or friend.

  • 54% Mentors answered with 10 – promoters
  • 16% Mentors answered with 9 – promoters
  • 23% Mentors answered with 8 – passives
  • 7% Mentors answered with 7 – detractors

This means that 70% Mentors fell into Promoters category, we had 23% passives and 7% detractors, which resulted in Net Promoter Score of 62.


And the most important thing:

  • 54% of our Mentors said that UX Mentorship Program helped them to get promoted in their role

Our overall Net Promoter Score (NPS) is 77, which clearly shows that the program has been successful in creating a positive impact.

This is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the mentors and mentees involved, who have put in their best efforts to ensure that the program is a success. The positive NPS score also serves as an indication of the effectiveness of the program in fostering meaningful connections between mentors and mentees and helping them to reach their goals.
